About Dental DNA

Dental DNA is a sophisticated laboratory dedicated to identifying bacterial, viral, and fungal microbes residing in root canals, cavitations, implants, and other oral settings. This advanced DNA analysis helps pinpoint the exact microbial presence in these areas, providing crucial insights into your oral health.

Correcting and Eliminating Problems

Dental DNA's mission is to aid dental and medical professionals in identifying the root causes of oral health issues, rather than merely masking symptoms with medication. Their comprehensive testing allows for targeted treatment plans to address and eliminate the underlying problems.


Note: Dental DNA operates with a CLIA license for high-complexity bacteriology, mycology, virology, routine chemistry, and toxicology testing. As a Biosafety level 2 laboratory, they provide CDC recommendations for microbial treatment based on your test results. Since Dental DNA is not a diagnostic lab, you will discuss your results and treatment plan with Dr. Zraiqat.

Research Initiatives

Dental DNA continuously explores genetic factors such as ApoE and gluten intolerance, contributing to ongoing research in oral and general health. Their newest Viral Panel test can detect 25 different viruses from various clinical specimens. Additionally, they are developing a hereditary cancer gene panel, including BRCA 1 and 2, prostate cancer, Lynch syndrome, and mismatch repair (MMR) genes.

Testing Scope and Accuracy

Dental DNA's testing capabilities include:

  1. Detecting microbial DNA of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, fungi, and viruses in samples from teeth, blood, tissue, implants, bone grafts, and more.
  2. Checking for Lyme disease.
  3. Assessing cells for detoxification ability of mercury, Alzheimer's susceptibility, and other autoimmune/neurological diseases.
  4. Determining susceptibility to gluten intolerance/sensitivity before symptoms appear.
  5. Identifying viruses in infection samples, ideal for patients unresponsive to antifungals or antibiotics.

Dental DNA utilizes Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology, a state-of-the-art tool in molecular biology, ensuring precise and accurate results.

Dr. Zraigat is one of a few dentists in the United States that has dual certification for safely removing mercury fillings. He's SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) Certified by the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology (IAOMT) and certified in safe amalgam removal by the International Association of Mercury-Safe Dentists (IAMSD). 

Dr. Zraigat is also accredited by the IAOMT (an award not common among other holistic dental practitioners in the area), signifying that he is proficient in the principles and foundations of biocompatible dentistry and that he has completed the IAOMT’s advanced educational programming about biological dentistry.

The staff at Holistic Dental Arts are among the best in the business. The front office staff were warm and professional, getting me scheduled and treated efficiently in good time. I had a pain free procedure that addressed my issue correctly. The techniques used by Dr Zraiquat are innovative and most importantly a healthy alternative approach to traditional care where mercury amalgam substances are often used that may have adverse health impact. Dr Zraiquat has a nice bed side manner and he worked with care to deliver treatment. You get a sense when a dentist is gentle and thorough while they work. Dr. Z is very knowledgeable about the latest holistic ortho treatments, helps you identify root causes of your dental issue, or offers referrals to other holistic dental practitioners if he does not perform certain procedures or treatments.
